Jeremy’s heading back to where it all started...
POPULAR TV AND RADIO HOST AND FORMER TELEGRAPH REPORTER BACK IN CITY FOR SPECIAL BROADCAST
RADIO 2 presenter and former Telegraph reporter Jeremy Vine is heading back to Coventry for a special edition of his radio show this week.
This Wednesday, The Jeremy Vine Show will be broadcast live from the front lobby of the old Telegraph building on Corporation Street.
The programme is set to feature some surprise special guests and will celebrate the journalist’s old stomping ground.
Jeremy’s career in journalism began when he started as a trainee reporter at the Coventry Evening Telegraph after graduating from Durham University in 1986.
According to his website, his daily show on Radio 2 is the most listened to current affairs programme in the UK.
The old city centre Telegraph offices stood empty after 2012 when the paper moved to its current home in Canal Basin, but earlier this year the property was turned into a pop up community venue and artspace called the CET building.
Announcing the occasion on their Facebook page, the CET building teased at celebrity guests and some Coventry themes features for the show but no details have been released.
The BBC radio schedule for Wednesday 9 November says: “The Jeremy Vine Show will broadcast live from Coventry to celebrate the city itself, its music, culture and industry - and 50 years of Local Radio.
“The programme will come live from the old offices of the Coventry Evening Telegraph, where Jeremy Vine had his first job after university.”
Tune in to Radio 2 from 12pm to hear the show. Jeremy Vine presenting Eggheads on BBC2 and, below, with Karen Hauer when they appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015
