Bruce ready for a break... so are Blues

Warwickshire Telegraph - - FRONT PAGE -

I KNOW Steve Bruce is a good manager, but I still do not know how good his Villa squad is in terms of promotion.

Until Saturday they had recovered with a great run of only one defeat in 12 matches. But then the wheels came off with the injury to captain John Terry. He has a broken metatarsal in his foot. That will be a few weeks. Villa’s injury list is mounting up.

Despite the 2- 1 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, they stay in the promotion zone – but only just.

Next up will be an away match at unpredictable QPR before a home game with hapless Sunderland.

Bruce needs the international break and so does Steve Cotterill. Hamstring injuries are making his tough Blues job even harder!

Forest and Wolves at home with an away sandwich filler at Middlesbrough and Sheffield United. Not ideal.
