IT’S time to remember Guy Fawkes’ attempt to blast apart the Houses of Parliament in 1605.
The brains behind the plot, Robert Catesby, was a local lad - he was born in Lapworth and lived in Stratford.
In 1606, it became an annual custom for the King and Parliament to commission a sermon to commemorate the event .
But what events will be going on in Coventry and Warwickshire to celebrate bonfire night?
Over the weekend, local rugby clubs across Coventry will be putting on their own displays.
Stoke Old Boys - Monday November 5th, Albert Gale Field Stoke. Bonfire and fireworks. £5 adults £2.50 children, £12.50 family of four. Big fireworks display, bonfire, bar, music, Barbeque and sweet stalls.
Keresley Rugby Club - On Saturday 3 November 2018, Keresley Rugby Club will have its display from 5pm. 01676 540082.
Old Coventrians RFC - Sunday 4th November, gates from 5pm. Bonfire to be lit at 6pm, Fireworks Display 7pm. Adults £4 Children under 16 £2, Family £10 (two adults up to three children).
Eastern Green - Saturday November 4th, gates 6pm, bonfire 6.30pm, fireworks display 8pm. Barbecue market stall, disco. Child ticket £2.50 age four to 14, Adult £4, adv, £1 more at the gate. 21st Eastern Green Scouts.
The Nuneaton Civic Bonfire will be on 3 November 2018, from 5.30pm at the Jubilee Sports Centre, Greenmoor Rd.
