Swanky new student digs offer ‘twudios’ for best pals and couples
ONE of the latest accommodation blocks to open in the city offers students unique living arrangements in a first for Coventry University.
Godiva Place, on Lower Ford Street, is the first of the university’s student accommodation buildings to offer brand new ‘twudios’ - rooms for close friends or couples.
The student block has already impressed its new residents - leading some students to brand their new home ‘The Hotel.’
The Telgraph took a look inside Godiva Place, which is now home to 772 university students.
The building also offers students the choice of a single studio room, complete with kitchen and study area, and a range of cluster flats that have bedrooms for between four and 12 students.
Chris Morgan, chief operating officer of Futurelets, Coventry University’s accommodation group, took us on a tour of the building.
She said: “We’re very proud of both Bishop Gate and Godiva Place and I think it’s because they are so different.
“There’s a different feel to this building. Our students are actually calling it The Hotel as it’s got that kind of air to it.
“The twudios are a new concept for us. They are for students wanting to live together - like close friends or couples.”
Students can only apply for twudios as a pair. The close-proximity living arrangement is designed for people who already know they want to live together.
Each twudio has two three-quarter
