Huff­in­g­ton Post’s new site (and a shorter name)

The Huff­in­g­ton Post has been mak­ing head­lines of its own, thanks to its first ever re­design and the sur­prise de­ci­sion to adopt its snap­pier nick­name as a new brand. Although most of the changes are cur­rently con­fined to the US ver­sion, the site pro­vides a fore­taste of what’s set to come in its UK of­fer­ing. Aside from the new logo, pages now look bolder and make more cre­ative use of photos. Its use of video helps drive the day’s news agenda and there is clearer high­light­ing of the top sto­ries to­gether with more space for the ar­ti­cles. Less chock-a-block and re­lent­less, it makes for a much more read­able and easy-to-browse of­fer­ing.
