Huffington Post’s new site (and a shorter name)
The Huffington Post has been making headlines of its own, thanks to its first ever redesign and the surprise decision to adopt its snappier nickname as a new brand. Although most of the changes are currently confined to the US version, the site provides a foretaste of what’s set to come in its UK offering. Aside from the new logo, pages now look bolder and make more creative use of photos. Its use of video helps drive the day’s news agenda and there is clearer highlighting of the top stories together with more space for the articles. Less chock-a-block and relentless, it makes for a much more readable and easy-to-browse offering.
