Web User - - Build A Better Site -

QI’m intrigued by the beta tools in Wordpress and would love to try them out. Is it too risky to do this on my main website? It’s only a personal site so it’s not a disaster if it goes down occasionally. Dave Berkeley, via email

ATesting Wordpress’s cutting-edge features is fun, but bear in mind that they’re still in development, which means they may include bugs and security vulnerabilities and may not work with your plug-ins. I’d recommend trying them out in a development environment on your PC rather than on your site, because then you can play with them without taking any risks. It’s your website, so the decision is yours, but if you try new tools on your site, back it up first.
