What’s New Online
Share Youtube videos with friends
Youtube has made it even easier to share videos with your friends by letting you do so without leaving its mobile apps. Rather than sharing links via Whatsapp, Twitter or Facebook, this new feature lets you choose one of your contacts to share a video with directly. It’s simple to use – you just open a video, press the Share button and tap the face of the person you want to send it to. Once they have approved your request, you can chat about the video in both one-to-one and group conversations.
But that’s not all. Youtube has also added a dark mode, which works when you have a video playing in landscape mode: double-tap the space above the Play/pause button and the screen will darken to reduce eye strain.
There’s also a better way of blurring faces when you upload a video, which lets you obscure specific people. Youtube can now automatically detect faces, so you can set it to automatically blur a person throughout the video. To access this new feature, click your profile image, select Creator Studio, find an uploaded video and click Edit, then choose Enhancements, Blurring Effects. Select Edit next to Blur Faces and choose who to blur. www.youtube.com
