Whatwh we liked: The ver­sa­tile Lastpass 4 stores your pass­words se­curely on­line and logs you into any site from any de­vice, wher­ever you are.are Un­like other pass­word man­agers, both the paid-for and free edi­tions let you ac­cess your saved lo­gins across all your de­vices. It can also fill in forms au­to­mat­i­cally, store im­por­tant per­sonal in­for­ma­tion such as credit card de­tails and an­a­lyse your pass­word se­cu­rity, giv­ing it a score and help­ing you make im­prove­ments.

Pass­words are stored in an on­line vault that you can ac­cess by click­ing the Lastpass but­ton in your browser. To log into any ac­count, sim­ply hover your mouse over its tile and click Launch. Lastpass even lets you share pass­words and se­cure notes with oth­ers through the shar­ing cen­tre.

The soft­ware’s Pre­mium-only fea­tures in­clude emer­gency ac­cess, ad­vanced multi-fac­tor ver­i­fi­ca­tion op­tions, Lastpass for ap­pli­ca­tions

How it can be im­proved: Lastpass re­cently dou­bled the price of its Pre­mium ser­vice to $28.80 (around £ 22.19, not in­clud­ing VAT) per year, mak­ing it con­sid­er­ably more ex­pen­sive than its ri­vals. We also found it a lit­tle buggy at times.
