Set up an Emby server in Win­dows

Down­load and run Emby. The con­fig­u­ra­tion wiz­ard will open in your web browser. Make sure English (United King­dom) is se­lected as the pre­ferred dis­play lan­guage, then click Next. En­ter your name and the de­tails of your Emby ac­count, if you have one. You can now set up your li­braries. Click the Add Me­dia Li­brary tile. 1

Use the drop-down menu in the win­dow that opens to se­lect a ‘Con­tent type’ – Movies, Mu­sic, TV, Books, Games, Home Videos & Pho­tos, Mu­sic Videos, Pho­tos or Unset (Mixed Con­tent). 1 You can also change the de­fault dis­play name. 2 Click Add 3 to lo­cate a folder con­tain­ing your me­dia. Al­low Emby to down­load art­work. 4

Choose where you want Emby to save the art­work, and whether to en­able chap­ter-im­age ex­trac­tion (this takes time and uses a lot of space). Click OK, then ei­ther add some more me­dia li­braries 1 or click Next. 2 Set the Meta­data lan­guage to English (UK) and agree to the terms of ser­vice. When you’ve done all that, click Fin­ish.
