Coun­cil plans 1000 homes

West Lothian Courier - - News - Deb­bie Hall Twenty new coun­cil homes have been com­pleted in Liv­ingston.

The devel­op­ment at Al­mond Link Road lies near the River Al­mond and is within easy walk­ing dis­tance of the town cen­tre. The site con­sists of eight onebed­room cot­tage flats and 12 two-bed­room cot­tage flats. Ex­ec­u­tive Coun­cil­lor for Ser­vices for the Com­mu­nity, Ge­orge Paul said: “West Loth­ian Coun­cil is build­ing 1000 new coun­cil prop­er­ties which will help al­le­vi­ate some of the pres­sure on lo­cal peo­ple who find it dif­fi­cult to find good qual­ity af­ford­able hous­ing. The de­mand for coun­cil hous­ing in Liv­ingston is very high and the coun­cil is de­lighted that work at this site has now been com­pleted.” The work in­cludes land­scape im­prove­ment works at Al­mond­vale Park and a new cy­cle path. Stephen Pro­filli of Lovell said: “We are proud to be work­ing with West Loth­ian Coun­cil on this devel­op­ment which has cre­ated mod­ern, en­er­gy­ef­fi­cient new homes for lo­cal peo­ple in Liv­ingston.”
