Events to raise cash for cen­tre

A seri e s o f e x c i t i n g fundrais­ers have been or­gan­ised that are sure to put a smile on any­one’s face.

Lynn Smith, the ac­tiv­i­ties or­gan­iser at Mid­dle­ton Hall Care Home in Brox­burn, is hop­ing peo­ple will get be­hind a drive to open an ac­tiv­i­ties cen­tre for res­i­dents.

Lynn and the SMILE team ( which stands for small mean­ing­ful in­ter­ac­tion links every­one) want to trans­form the for­mer tennis pavilion next to the home for use by the res­i­dents.

She said: “Mid­dle­ton staff and friends de­cided to raise money for this project. Over the next few months we have sev­eral fundrais­ing con­certs and spon­sored events that can be fol­lowed on our Face­book page.”

The first of these fundrais­ing events is a barn dance on September 15 at Mid­dle­ton Hall Bowl­ing Club at 2pm with live mu­sic and high tea and a Hal­loween party has also been or­gan­ised for Novem­ber 3 at 2pm, also at the bowl­ing club.
