College’s partners a leading bakery

West Lothian Courier - - News - Courier reporter

West Lothian College has announced a partnership with a leading bakery.

Thirty employees aged 16 to 24 will undertake a Modern Apprenticeship in retail with Greggs.

This course, funded by Skills Development Scotland, will see learners develop knowledge, skills and qualifications.

The Developing the Young Workforce strategy aims to bridge the gap between education and employers by providing young people with the right education, training and experience to get into fulfilling jobs and careers.

Diane Mitchell, head of Workforce Development, said: “West Lothian College is committed to supporting Greggs to develop its young workforce.

“We are delighted to be the only college in Scotland to be working with this important partner and this new contract underlines West Lothian College’s position as a national training provider.

“It is fantastic that Greggs is committed to developing its young workforce, and providing its staff with training and progression opportunities.”
