Keith’s wines award

West Lothian Courier - - Memory Lane -

Keith Knight of Houstoun House in Uphall was all smiles as he was presented with a certificate of commendation for having the most outstanding list of German wines in Scotland.

The competition, organised by the Wines from Germany Information Service, attracted more than 250 entrants from hotels and restaurants across the country.

Houstoun House’s stock of over 50 German wines were judged to be the best quality and quantity of selection in Scotland.

Our picture, which featured in the September 16, 1977, edition of the Courier, shows Mr Knight being presented with the award by German ‘Wine Queen’ Friedlinde Gurr.
