Sky’s the limit for Livi boys

West Lothian Courier - - Property - Livi Utd ....... 11 Kirkcaldy YM ........ 0

Livingston United earned the praise of Sky Sports presenter Jeff Stelling as their resounding 11-0 victory over Kirkcaldy YM made it onto Gillette Soccer Saturday.

The host gave the men from Station Park a special mention on the programme after they notched double figures to claim their second win of the season and climb up to seventh in the South Division table in the process.

Incredibly, it was the second time this term that the team from Fife had lost 11-0 to a team from West Lothian after they suffered a similar loss to Pumpherston last month.

Robert Thomson’s men got off to the perfect start and never looked back as they found themselves two goals up inside five minutes thanks to strikes from Dean McLean and Craig Russell.

McLean would grab a first-half hat-trick while both Alex Cummings and Kieran McGurk found the net before the break as Livi went in with a six-goal advantage.

McGurk and Kieran McKee made it eight for the hosts prior to the away side being reduced to 10 men, as if their day could get any worse.

Connor Cowan netted a ninth for United before McGurk, who also missed a penalty, rounded off the scoring with a late brace.
