Tough nut to crack

West Lothian Courier - - Property -

Frustration is probably the best word to use this week. It was another credible point against a strong Queen of the South team , but yet again it had the feel of two points thrown away.

Looking back at the first five league games, it is apparent we are going to be a tough nut to crack. We have competed in every game and could be sitting with maximum points.

We aren’t though, and as I eluded to a few weeks ago, this isn’t League One and we won’t get away with missing chances or slipping up at the back.

Saturday was no different. For 70 minutes, it was as good a performance as you’ll see all season but again a lapse in concentration has allowed Queens to score two goals from nowhere.

Coming away with a point in the end was a good effort from the team and showed excellent character when they may well have crumbled.

It’s time now to be ruthless. We need to start taking advantage of being the better team in games and making it count with points.

Next up is the long trip up north as we come up against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. This will be a tough game but one we should be confident going in to.

It’s your proverbial six pointer as a win sends us clear of the hosts but defeat and we would drop below them.

Safe journey to those travelling north and don’t forget to get right behind the team and manager and bring the three points back.
