Masters back for busy spell

West Lothian Courier - - The Back Page -

The Edinburgh Parsons Peebles Monarchs have another busy spell with three meetings in three days as they look to cement their play-off berth as the end of the season approaches.

The action starts today ( Thursday) with the side travelling to SGB Championship leaders Sheffield Tigers before welcoming their neighbours the Glasgow Tigers to Armadale Stadium on Friday night.

They end the weekend with a trip south to face the Workington Comets on Saturday evening.

The Monarchs, who sit in third place, are coming off a brilliant week in which they won three of their four contests.

And they are set to be given a boost with captain Sam Masters looking set to return to action after sitting out two of those clashes with injury.

He couldn’t have asked for a tougher comeback though as the two Tigers are favourites to battle it out for the title.

The Friday night battle with their Scottish rivals begins at the usual Armadale Stadium time of 7.30pm.
