Char­ity’s new ap­peal to mark Jak’s 18th

West Loth­ian char­ity the team Jak Foun­da­tion have launched a fundrais­ing drive so they can help even more young peo­ple who are fight­ing can­cer.

the char­ity was set up fol­low­ing the death of in­spi­ra­tional teenager Jak true­man who died from a rare form of can­cer and the fundrais­ing cam­paign was launched to­day (thurs­day) on what would have been his 18th birth­day.

Be­fore he passed away, Jak said he wanted a safe haven for young peo­ple with can­cer and their fam­i­lies and so Jak’s Den was cre­ated.

And his mum, Al­li­son Barr, wants to ex­tend that ser­vice fur­ther and is look­ing to raise £180,000 to cre­ate a big­ger cen­tre.
