West Lothian Courier - - News -

Police are appealing for information after a suspicious fire at a West Lothian pub.

the Clachan Bar in Whitburn was broken into in the early hours of saturday morning and set alight. Luckily damage was not extensive and the pub has re-opened.

officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.

Detective Constable Barry Carlin of Livingston CID said:“We are still trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding this wilful fireraising but thankfully no one was injured as a result of the fire. It was quickly brought under control by emergency services, however the consequences of this act could have been far worse. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at the time of the incident, and similarly for anyone with any further information relevant to this investigation to contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information should contact Police scotland on 101 quoting reference 903 of saturday 16th september.
