Po­lice ap­peal af­ter car set alight

Po­lice in West Loth­ian are ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses af­ter a car was de­lib­er­ately set on fire caus­ing ir­repara­ble dam­age.

The in­ci­dent of wil­ful fir­erais­ing oc­curred at around 6am on Sun­day, Septem­ber 17, when an un­known per­son set to fire to a mo­tor ve­hi­cle in Fauld­house.

Of­fi­cers are now urg­ing any­one who can as­sist with their en­quiries to come for­ward.

De­tec­tive Con­sta­ble Lee McCall of Liv­ingston CID said: “Thank­fully no per­sons were hurt as a re­sult of the fire, how­ever sig­nif­i­cant dam­age has been caused to per­sonal prop­erty as a re­sult and en­quiries are on­go­ing.

“We are keen to hear from any­one who may have seen any­thing or any­body act­ing sus­pi­ciously at the time of the in­ci­dent, and sim­i­larly for any­one with any fur­ther in­for­ma­tion rel­e­vant to this in­ves­ti­ga­tion to con­tact po­lice im­me­di­ately.”
