The Walking Dead Season 7 (18)
The apocalyptic opus’ seventh run wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea and it’s easy to see why.
After the gripping, tension-stuffed violent opener, the series tails off in meandering fashion, only re-finding its feet in the final couple of episodes.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan is undoubtedly the show’s biggest human threat yet and though occasionally veering off into pantomime villainy, the 51-year-old is a riot in the role. Special mention to Austin Amelio (Dwight) too for his layered turn.
Other favourites like Norman Reedus’ Daryl feel sidelined, though, and there’s no shaking off the feeling it’s all setting up bigger, better and bolder things to come.
