Ar­madale This­tle hit neigh­bours West Calder for six to en­sure they took the derby brag­ging rights with a fine vic­tory.

Re­mark­ably it was the sec­ond straight 6-3 loss for the Cau­ther, and their third suc­ces­sive de­feat hav­ing gone un­beaten all sea­son be­fore that.

An­thony McLaugh­lin gave the visitors an early lead be­fore Ar­madale found the net three times in quick suc­ces­sion prior to the half-time whis­tle.

Colin Al­li­son opened the scor­ing for the Jags on 25 min­utes be­fore Cal­lum Robert­son fired his side into the lead five min­utes later af­ter neat work from Liam Gray be­fore he got in on the act him­self just be­fore the break.

The hosts con­tin­ued to set the pace in the sec­ond half with Al­li­son grab­bing his sec­ond on 55 min­utes be­fore David Love net­ted from the spot for West Calder to give them hope of a fight­back.

How­ever, Gray re­stored This­tle’s three goal lead on 82 min­utes prior to both sides find­ing the net in the clos­ing min­utes to round off an en­ter­tain­ing con­test.

Both sides are in league ac­tion at the week­end with United look­ing to end their run by pick­ing up three points at home to Lochgelly Al­bert while Ar­madale This­tle have a tricky away day at Craigroys­ton.
