Thirteen years have passed between the fiendishly funny original Bad Santa flick and this ill-advised follow-up story.

Not only was it not worth the wait, but you will be left wishing they had not bothered making it at all.

Despite a caustic tone, the first flick had a heart beneath the cursing and grouchiness – and a barrel of laughs making it a true festive favourite.

Sadly the mean-spiritedness is dialled up to 10 in a sluggish second go-around that not even a returning Billy Bob Thornton and newbie Kathy Bates can save.

There are a sprinkling of laughs, but that’s not enough to make this huge disappointing sequel worthy of filling any stockings this Christmas.
