The Flex Unit in Whitburn is a gym dedicated to helping clients transform their fitness and body shape.

It was devoted bodybuilder Robert Bradley’s dream of opening his own gym that came true in April this year.

After years of training for the annual Mr Scotland bodybuilding contest in other gyms Robert felt he wanted a place that was specifically aimed at changing body shapes using weights and a strict training program.

He focused on opening his own place and in April The Flex Unit was opened.

“The Flex Unit is a place where anyone who is serious about changing their body shape and training is welcome to come along and learn from our personal trainers and our members,” said Robert.

“There’s a strong sense of community at The Flex Unit and everyone is made to feel welcome.

“We are all here to achieve goals and it’s great to see our PTs and members help each other.”

As well as training advice the team offer nutrition advice and all for £23 a month membership or pay as you go sessions.

The Flex Unit is open Monday to Friday 6am to midnight and Saturday and Sunday 6am to 10pm.

And one person who will be in the gym training most of that time will be Robert.

He is currently in a 20 week training program to re-enter Mr Scotland.

And while he has Christmas Day and Boxing Day off his diet plan, Robert is determined to win that title of Mr Scotland in 2018.

“It’s a lot of hard work but I am training with a great team and I still manage to have my Christmas dinner before I get back into the training at Flex Unit.”

Anyone who is serious about changing their body shape and training is welcome to come along and learn . . .
