SMART Recovery meeting This is a peer led, mutual aid meeting for people trying to abstain from any form of addiction. Warm welcome and support from people who understand your daily struggle. This cancer support group is open to individuals touched by any type of cancer. The group has been formed to give parents, survivors and caregivers the support and strength to move forward together. Citizens Advice Bureau West Lothian - Has an outreach project every Wednesday 9.30am, 10.30am and 11.30am at the Strathbrock Community Partnership Centre (Entrance B). We can help with problems such as benefits, debt, family and neighbour problems, consumer issues, employment, and tenancy issues. To book an appointment phone 01506 436132. Please note change of day and times. National Autistic Society Now has an additional drop-in service at Strathbrock Partnership Centre, Broxburn, adding to the existing service in Bathgate. No appointments are necessary. The services are open at the following times: Strathbrock Partnership Centre, Tuesdays 1pm - 4pm; Bathgate Partnership, Centre Wednesdays 1pm - 4pm. Drop In to Weigh-and-Go Weigh2Go West Lothian is a free, weekly weigh-in service that provides help and support on losing weight. There is also information and signposting on what’s on in your area to help you maintain a healthy weight. No appointment is necessary just drop in. Strathbrock Job Club Held every Thursday 2pm-4pm in Strathbrock Community Centre. A weekly drop-in available to jobseekers. Help with job search, create an up to date CV and completing online application forms. West Lothian Food-bank The foodbank can help with a 3 day emergency supply of food. Contact Broxburn Council Information Centre, social worker, Weslo housing or any other voluntary sector works to discuss your situation. They may give you a voucher to obtain food. Over 50’s Keep Fit Class Monday 10am - 11am in Strathbrock Com- munity Centre. This is a very friendly class and always opened to new members. Gentle introduction to exercise for those who perhaps are not as fit as they would like to be. Cost is £1.00. Tea, coffee and a good chat is available after the session (optional).
Playgroup Held at Strathbrock Community centre sessions run Monday to Friday 9.15am to 11.45am and Monday, Thursday and Friday afternoons 12.30pm - 2.45pm We welcome children aged between 2 years 3 months to 5 years (they do not need to be toilet trained) The fee for attending playgroup is £5 per session and this includes a healthy snack, milk and water. The playgroup is open term-time only.
Broxburn Art Group Meet in Strathbrock Community centre every Thursday from 9am – noon. New members are always welcome.
Broxburn Library Located within Strathbrock Partnership Centre, the library offers the full range of library services, including free access to public computers. Opening times are Monday & Tuesday 8.30am – 5pm, Wednesday 8.30am -3pm, Thursday 8.30am – 7pm, Friday 8.30am – 4pm & Saturday 9am -1pm. Book Club - This meets on the last Thursday of the month at 5.45pm. If you are interested in reading, meeting people and having a chat over a tea/coffee, then come along and join in. Bookbug sessions - Free story and rhyme sessions for babies, toddlers pre-school children and their families. Bookbug session dates are March 24, 27 & 28 at 10.30am.
