Three West Lothian players sit in the top four places of the Murrayfield Sports Bar Platinum League which features the best players in the Edinburgh region.

Jim Mitchell occupies top spot, with Graeme Bird in third and Rab Dick one place further back.

Rab came back from 2-1 down to seal a fantastic 9-2 victory over William Campbell, while Graeme excelled in his two matches as he grabbed 9-4 and 9-5 victories over Callum Smith and Alan White.

Jim looked like he had thrown away a 3-0 advantage against Kenny Smith but he was able to sneak over the line with a 9-7 victory that included 16 ton throws.

West Lothian ladies Denise Bird and Gillian Mitchell both had the same opponent in Brian Cameron and both were on the losing end as they missed crucial doubles with Denise suffering a 7-3 defeat while Gillian lost 7-2.

The Jan Legget Ladies and Men’s leagues are coming to a close with just one week remaining and it looks like Mary Clark will nick the ladies title.

She takes on second-placed Abi Scatler, who has a game in hand, but a win for Mary would seal the deal.

For the guys, both leagues are up for grabs entering the finale stages with Gordon Bruce boasting a single point lead in the Rough Riders league while as many as five players are still in with a chance of claiming the Border Raiders division.
