Monarchs aim to get back on track

West Lothian Courier - - The Back Page - Callum Carson

The Edinburgh Staggs Bar Monarchs are back in action at Armadale Stadium tomorrow (Friday) night.

The side take on Ipswich Witches in an SGB Championship fixture, 24 hours removed from an away trip to Redcar Bears as they look to get their play-off bid on track.

As part of the Monarchs’ season-long 70th anniversary celebrations, Friday night’s clash is set to be a 1980s night as they continue to work their way through the decades.

Captain Erik Riss will be keen to get back to form after a rare poor performance in last week’s away loss to the Scunthorpe Scorpions as the club enter this week’s double header sitting at the foot of the Championship table with just two wins from their seven fixtures.

However, rookie Max Ruml should be full of confidence after claiming the Caledonian Riders’ Championship last week, held at Armadale Stadium with a string of fine displays.

The action gets underway at 7.30pm, with gates open at 6.30pm and tickets available to purchase on the day.
