Swim­mers cel­e­brate with a 50 mile swim

Whit­burn-based Tro­jan ASC Swim­ming Club cel­e­brated their 40th an­niver­sary re­cently with a spe­cial 40 mile char­ity swim.

The chal­lenge took place at the Xcite pool in Whit­burn and club mem­bers not only reached their tar­get - but kept go­ing un­til they hit the 50 mile mark.

A to­tal of £2492.50 in spon­sor­ship was raised with funds raised go­ing to­wards pro­vid­ing ad­di­tional train­ing for the coach­ing team as wells as new equip­ment, en­sur­ing that the club has a sta­ble and sus­tain­able fu­ture as they aim to help lo­cal young­sters re­alise their po­ten­tial within the sport.
