Event raises char­ity cash

Gen­er­ous shop­pers raised char­ity cash at a spe­cial event in Liv­ingston.

Vis­i­tors to The Cen­tre, Liv­ingston, raised £ 1000 for a lo­cal respite cen­tre which helps chil­dren with com­plex dis­abil­i­ties, Sun­ndach, and Great Or­mond Street Hos­pi­tal Char­ity at its se­cond One Great Day char­ity event.

Cir­cus acts in­clud­ing con­tact jug­glers, stilt walk­ers, hula hop­pers and ac­ro­bats per­formed for shop­pers through­out the day at the event, bring­ing a huge smile to many faces, and a live gold statue took shop­pers of all ages by sur­prise as she moved to the sound of coins be­ing do­nated.

Kids took part in arts and crafts with glit­ter tat­toos and painted faces, whilst en­joy­ing candy floss – all for do­na­tions which helped reach the fi­nal sum of £1000.

Debbi Dun­lop, deputy charge nurse at Sun­ndach in Liv­ingston, said: “We are hugely grate­ful to The Cen­tre, Liv­ingston for rais­ing money for us at the week­end.

“The man­age­ment team have con­tin­ued to sup­port us in many ways, in­clud­ing com­pletely trans­form­ing our gar­den, mak­ing a lot of our chil­dren very happy, which we are im­mensely grate­ful for.”

Funds were also do­nated on the day by Aerial Ad­ven­tures who do­nated £1 from their Ad­ven­ture Passes, which cov­ers all three ac­tion-packed ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing
