Bathgate Concert Orchestra will hold a special event to commemorate the end of the First World War.
The concert will be held in Boghall Parish Church on October 19 at 7.30pm.
The programme will feature light classical music on a military theme including Haydn’s Symphony No. 100‘Military’and concluding with Ralph Vaughan Williams’sublime‘The Lark Ascending’, featuring guest soloist Barbara Downie, violinist with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
‘Lark Ascending’has repeatedly been named by Classic FM’s Hall of Fame as the nation’s most loved piece of classical music and it’s haunting melodies echo the sorrow and lost generation of the First World War.
The concert will be conducted by young Scottish conductor, Michael Graham.
Tickets are £7 and children go free.
