A show inspired by an award-winning graphic novel is set to be staged in West Lothian.
‘The Arrival’is a funny, wildly imaginative and welcoming show by Shaun Tan.
It follows a man as he journeys to start life in a bewildering new city. It’s a land of strange customs, peculiar animals and weird vegetables.
He doesn’t speak the language and he can’t read the maps or signs.
But he is helped along the way by sympathetic strangers.
Produced by Solar Bear, a pioneering theatre company celebrating the creative possibilities of inclusion, the production has been created to be accessible for both deaf and hearing audiences and those with English as an additional language.
Told in in its own unique way through a mix of visual and physical theatre, the story is aimed at both young people (11+) .
The play will take place on Friday, October 26, at 7.30pm at Howden Park Centre.
Tickets priced £10, £8 for concessions or £6 for West Lothian schools. The show is suitable for audiences aged 11+.
