Challenge from the army
Pupils at Dean Community High School suffered a real assault to the senses at a sponsored events day.
As one of their fundraisers, the school invited the army to bring along their assault course for the day.
Pupils battled each other, and the clock, to complete the gruelling course. The event was just part of the school’s packed curriculum for the day.
Other pupils joined forces to help the classmates in the annual one day fundraiser.
Some pupils took part in a sponsored silence, while a 16km walk around Dechmont Law was the order of the day for other pupils.
Our picture, which was printed in the October 15, 1998 edition of the Courier, shows some of the pupils, with the help of soldiers, limbering up before tackling the assault course.
