Fut­sal women take part in big week

West Loth­ian Col­lege Ladies’fut­sal team took part in sev­eral events to mark Women and Girls in Sport Week.

It was the se­cond year in a row in which the team have held events aimed at en­cour­ag­ing more girls and women in to sport and was a huge suc­cess.

They wel­comed 40 pupils from lo­cal schools to a fut­sal fes­ti­val at the col­lege aimed at at­tract­ing more girls into the sport.

The fol­low­ing day, the col­lege team trav­elled to Edinburgh to play a fut­sal match against a Scot­tish Gov­ern­ment team, with the game end­ing 4-4.

The fi­nal event of the week saw five se­nior teams com­pete in a com­pe­ti­tion at the col­lege for the WGSW Tro­phy. Teams from West Loth­ian Col­lege, In­veral­mond High School and Murieston United took part in the com­pe­ti­tion, with United lift­ing the tro­phy.

Spe­cial guests were Scot­tish Women Premier League play­ers Me­gan Quinn, Gill In­gles and Demi Fal­coner .
