Scout Group Meet­ings of the 29th Scout Group’s Beaver Scout sec­tion have re­sumed af­ter the sum­mer break. We cur­rently have spa­ces for both boys and girls aged be­tween 6 and 8 years old. Meet­ings take place on Wed­nes­day evenings from 6.30 pm to 7.30pm in Toronto Pri­mary School and we of­fer a wide range of fun games, crafts, out­ings, friend­ship and a chance to learn and try new things. Bra Bank Liz How­ley con­tin­ues to col­lect Bras for Char­ity and, ul­ti­mately, Third World Coun­tries, where they will be put to good use. Please hand them in to Forest­bank Com­mu­nity Ed­u­ca­tion Cen­tre, Forest­bank, Lady­well, Liv­ingston. Thank you for your con­tin­ued sup­port. It is al­ways amaz­ing that these Bras just keep on com­ing. Also, Liz will take do­na­tions of new “Ladies/Chil­dren’s Pants” which she will hand on to the char­ity “Smalls for All.” All sizes from Chil­dren’s aged 2 years up­wards to any size Ladies Pants. Once again, these items will be passed on to very de­serv­ing causes in Africa where, hav­ing a pair of pants to wear can mean the world of dif­fer­ence to these women and girls.

Char­ity Shop Braid House Day Cen­tre, Labrador Av­enue, How­den, Liv­ingston EH54 6BU has opened a ‘Lit­tle Char­ity Shop’ within the Day Cen­tre. This sells all sorts of bric-abrac. Café Con­nect Ex­tra is for peo­ple who have de­men­tia and their car­ers to meet and give each other sup­port. The café runs on the first Wed­nes­day of the month from 2.00pm to 3.30pm at Dedridge Bap­tist Church, Quentin Rise, Dedridge EH52 5LH. Ev­ery­one is wel­come to come along.
