We have lots of fun do­ing dif­fer­ent crafts, play­ing all sorts of games, learn­ing new things, work­ing to­wards spe­cial Girl Guid­ing badges and there is al­ways lots of laugh­ing go­ing on. Brown­ies is for girls aged 7-10 and takes place af­ter Rain­bows on a Wed­nes­day in the vil­lage hall 6.30-8pm dur­ing term times. We are sim­i­lar to Rain­bows but aim it at the slightly older age group. Games, crafts, badges, out­ings and week­ends away at Brownie Camp are just a few of the ex­cit­ing things the girls get up to when at Brown­ies. Through this ac­tion-packed pro­gramme, girls can build con­fi­dence by de­vel­op­ing new skills, learn­ing about the wider com­mu­nity, find­ing out about dif­fer­ent cul­tures and get­ting in­volved with global is­sues like the en­vi­ron­ment and en­dan­gered species. It is held on Fri­days from 12.30-3.30pm on Fri­days. We of­fer in­clu­sive, de­vel­op­men­tal multi-sports coach­ing in a pos­i­tive en­vi­ron­ment that be­gins with an ini­tial ABC-based pro­gramme and de­veloP into ten core sports. Your child will re­ceive Cer­tifi­cates of Achieve­ment at each level as a re­ward for en­thu­si­asm, mo­ti­va­tion and ef­fec­tive con­tri­bu­tion. Scot­tish Women`s In­sti­tute meets in Kirknew­ton Church Hall on the sec­ond Thurs­day each month at 7.15pm. Craft classes also be­ing run.
