More items are be­ing ac­cepted at rub­bish tips

A wider range of items are be­ing ac­cepted at West Sus­sex’s rub­bish tips.

Soil and hard­core will be ac­cepted at all sites with the ex­cep­tion of Bog­nor, Mid­hurst and Westhamp­nett.

Plaster­board can be de­posited at Billing­shurst, Burgess Hill, Craw­ley, Hor­sham, Lit­tle­hamp­ton, Shore­ham and Wor­thing.

As­bestos can be taken to Burgess Hill, Craw­ley and Wor­thing.

Ve­hi­cles with trail­ers will also be able to ac­cess the Craw­ley, Billing­shurst, and Wor­thing sites on week­day af­ter­noons only, from 1pm to 6pm. In or­der to min­imise queues, peo­ple are asked not to ar­rive at the sites be­fore they open and to check open­ing times and days on­line be­fore set­ting off.

To help en­sure so­cial dis­tanc­ing mea­sures are main­tained, un­less strictly nec­es­sary for un­load­ing large or heavy items, only one per­son should get out of the ve­hi­cle.
