Hor­sham District Coun­cil’s glossy mag­a­zine ‘Our District’ landed on my door­mat this morn­ing. It’s al­ways an in­ter­est­ing read.

I was par­tic­u­larly pleased to see the ar­ti­cle about the new part­ner­ship be­tween Hor­sham District Coun­cil and Sus­sex Wildlife Trust. The project is called ‘Wilder Hor­sham District’ and it aims to en­sure that wildlife through­out Hor­sham District thrives as a re­sult of this new initiative.

Can we now as­sume, there­fore, that the pos­si­bil­ity of con­cret­ing over Rook­wood Golf Course for a hous­ing de­vel­op­ment of up to 1,000 homes will now be aban­doned?

Af­ter all, Rook­wood is one of the wildlife jewels in Hor­sham District’s crown and it sits right next to Warn­ham Na­ture Re­serve, an­other jewel, which would be badly af­fected
