Scrabble casts its spell on the West
WORDSMITHS from more than 30 countries will be in Devon later this month when the World Scrabble Championships comes to the West Country for the first time.
Heats will take place in Torquay from October 23 to 27, with the final two players battling it out in London on October 28.
Elite players will go head-tohead as they compete for a prize pool of more than £15,000.
Key players taking part in the tournament include Australian David Eldar, who will be defending his world champion title.
A total of 35 games will be played across four days.
