Council vulnerable to cyber attackers
A COUNCIL IT system aimed at recovering from a cyberattack is out-of-date, an investigation has found.
Gloucestershire County Councill’s IT Disaster Recovery plan, a system placed to comeback from a cyberattack and hardware failures, needs to be updated as well as introduce regular recovery testing, findings from an internal probe by the authority showed.
The report also found that there was an absence of documented recovery procedures for many critical council systems.
The IT Disaster Recovery unit will present measures on how they will improve the system to the committee next week.
