Dung unit drop­ping in at Glasto

WORK is un­der way to create a bio di­gester unit at Wor­thy Farm, which will con­vert cow dung into elec­tric­ity.

A crane spot­ted at the Glas­ton­bury Fes­ti­val site yes­ter­day got fes­ti­val fans talk­ing about the pos­si­bil­ity of a new area or stage at the world-renowned event, which will re­turn in June 2019 af­ter a year off.

How­ever, it has been con­firmed by the owner of CJ Tower Cranes that the work be­ing car­ried out is in prepa­ra­tion for the ar­rival of a new anaer­o­bic di­ges­tion plant.

John El­liot said: “We are on site at the mo­ment sup­ply­ing a tower crane for a job to in­stall a bio-di­gester unit.”

The news comes af­ter the fes­ti­val also re­cently con­firmed that it is set to ban plas­tic bot­tles for the 2019 event.
