Dover loan for Debayo
CHELTENHAM left-back Joshua Debayo has joined National League club Dover Athletic until January.
The 21-year-old ex-Leicester City player becomes the fifth member of boss Michael Duff ’s squad to be loaned out.
“Joshua needs games and Dover will be a good move for him,” Duff said. “Dover’s manager Andy Hessenthaler is another one I know and I’m sure Joshua will benefit from the experience of playing for him.”
Debayo, who signed a two-year contract with the Robins in the summer, played in five of the opening six matches, but with Chris Hussey returning from a groin injury and Brentford loanee Tom Field also in contention for the berth, Debayo has not featured since the Carabao Cup defeat by Brentford on August 28.
He went on as a substitute in Tuesday night’s 6-0 County Cup first round win over Mangotsfield.
Cheltenham now have five players out on loan, with the other four being: Matt Bower (Weston), Tom Smith (Bath), Manny Duku (Barnet) and George Lloyd (Hereford).
