A 33-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with a series of terror offences.
Samata Ullah, of Cardiff, is to appear in custody at London’s Westminster Magistrates’ Court today.
Scotland Yard said he has been charged with six offences including membership of a proscribed organisation – namely IS (Daesh) – terrorist training, preparation for terrorism, directing terrorism and two counts of possessing articles connected with the commission, preparation or instigation of terrorism. The alleged offences took place between December 1, 2015 and September 22, 2016.
Ullah was arrested in a Cardiff street by Met Police counter-terror officers on September 22.
Scotland Yard described the swoop as “pre-planned” and part of “a pro-active investigation” with the Wales Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit (WECTU).
