Tributes to man after pub choking tragedy

-

A MAN died after choking on a takeaway at a pub.

Dai “Radar” Rees, 51, was at the Lamb Inn in Cardigan on Saturday night when he was taken ill. Landlord Jamie Bowen said: “We just couldn’t help him.

“The emergency services were here very quickly but unfortunately it was too late. Dai was well liked by everyone, he would do anything for you and he was held in high esteem.”

It is believed Mr Rees choked while eating a takeaway meal.

The alarm was raised and the Welsh Ambulance Service sent a paramedic in a rapid-response car, a crew in an emergency ambulance and a team of fire service co-responders to the pub.

Mr Rees, who lived alone in a flat at Feidrfair, died at the scene.

Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.
