A TEENAGER was left needing a metal plate and screws in his jaw after suffering a punch with “devastating consequences” during a football match.

The youth who cannot be named for legal reasons was hit by a single blow from 28-year-old Ollie Sayers Noor after a mistimed tackle at a football game in the Llanelli area on December 4 last year.

Noor, of Dan y Banc, Felinfoel, Llanelli, pleaded guilty to a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm when he appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court.

A victim impact statement read to the court heard how the teenager had not played since the incident and has been left with dislodged teeth and pain in his gums.

He becomes anxious in crowds and fears his face will be hit when he attempts to play football with friends.

The statement added in the weeks after the punch he had to have his food liquidised, such was the impact of the punch from Noor.

Magistrates said their sentencing powers were not sufficient in this case and sent Noor to Swansea Crown Court for sentencing on November 3.

He was granted unconditional bail.
