Wit­ness plea af­ter brawl on evening train

A GROUP of men brawled on a train in a fight that saw “mul­ti­ple punches” thrown, po­lice have said.

The fight broke out on an Ar­riva Trains Wales ser­vice be­tween Cardiff Cen­tral and Cwm­bran and two peo­ple have since been ar­rested.

A Bri­tish Trans­port Po­lice spokesman said the “large fight” hap­pened at around 8.50pm on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 14, on the 8.10pm ser­vice be­tween Cardiff Cen­tral and Cwm­bran.

The spokesman said: “Whilst on board the train, a group of males be­gan fight­ing. Of­fi­cers be­lieve there are vic­tims who have not yet made any for­mal com­plaints.

“Of­fi­cers are there­fore ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses and vic­tims to get in touch as soon as pos­si­ble.

“Two men, aged 21 and 22, were each ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of com­mon as­sault.

“They have been in­ter­viewed in re­la­tion to this in­ci­dent and re­leased un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.”
