Leisure centres open to city’s young people

Western Mail - - WM2 -

PAUL Driscoll’s letter (Western Mail, December 5) regarding the times teenagers can access public leisure centres in Cardiff did not give the full picture – which I am happy to do.

As a social enterprise, GLL exists to get more people more active more often in Cardiff. Following feedback with customers, we have extended the number of young people (11-15) who can attend junior gym sessions within supervised hours. We have discontinued the open access policy for 14- and 15-year-olds because we don’t believe it is safe or controlled.

Time slots are not pre-set but vary on demand and capacity at each of our eight facilities across the city.

If any customers have any questions about this policy, please contact the general manager at your local centre. Jason Curtis GLL, South West & Wales
