Man’s body found at river
POLICE investigating the discovery of a body at a river have confirmed it is that of a missing man.
Richard Andrews, who was from the Melyn area of Neath and was known locally as Monkey, was reported missing to police in January having not been seen since September 2017.
His body was found at the end of last month on the banks of the River Neath at Neath Abbey Wharf, Skewen.
Officers have been investigating the circumstances of the 49-yearold’s disappearance since. His body was discovered by a member of the public on Saturday, September 29. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “Officers are continuing to appeal for the public’s help in piecing together Mr Andrews’ movements from the time he went missing until his body was found.”
