Chance to ‘snap’ up quality cameras

Western Morning News (Saturday) - - Art & Antiques -

Afine selection of Nikon cameras will be included in next Saturday’s sale from a camera enthusiast who is moving away from the area.

There is a splendid boxed Wray of London telescope together with lens and tripod, all in excellent condition. Wray was a fascinating Victorian who was active in the Royal Astronomical Society and was, by profession, a solicitor.

The small Victorian cast iron bedroom fireplace in the sale focuses on the heritage which is all around us and able to be further enjoyed.

A three-mast woven ship picture is of an Isle of Scilly vessel and there is also a pencil sketch of Old Town church. A splendid selection of watercolours, mostly of local scenes, also includes a fine Mediterranean oil.

Viewing for next Saturday’s sale is from 9am and, as usual, there is No Buyer’s Premium.

The attendance at the last sale reflected the interesting items on offer: with a skeleton domed clock making £1,400, and a Bombay chair realising £610.
