Strictly Come Dancing returns with a new head judge and 15 new celebs...

The Strictly season begins with the launch that pairs the celebrities with their professional partners. Among those sporting Lycra and spray tans this year are Holby City star Joe McFadden, entertainer Debbie McGee, JLS star Aston Merrygold and comedian Brian Conley. Shirley Ballas replaces Len Goodman as head judge, while Claudia and Tess are back hosting.
It’s time to sew on those sequins and slip into some dancing shoes, as Strictly Come Dancing retuns…
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman again host as this year’s 15 celebrities are paired with the pro-dancers who they hope will teach them how to waltz, jive and quickstep their way to the coveted glitterball trophy.

Len Goodman. ‘Strictly is so loved by the British public and I’ve always been a massive fan,’ says Shirley, 56. ‘I can’t wait to get into the ballroom!’
This launch show will see a routine from the pro-dancers in honour of Strictly’s former host Sir Bruce Forsyth, who died last month.
The celebrities and their partners will get a couple of weeks of intense training before the real competition gets under way. Here’s our lowdown on all this year's dancers…
