With the court case looming and Yasmeen’s list of supporters growing by the day, abusive husband Geoff is desperate to regain control of the situation. But he needs to get to his wife…
This week, Yasmeen takes a phone call but is shocked to hear Geoff’s voice. She reels as he says he loves her and will forgive her if she takes him back. Her mind is blown when he later goes to the police to retract his statement and drop the charges.
‘The sound of his voice calms her in a way,’ reveals Shelley King, who plays Yasmeen. ‘He says, “I still love you,” but he also says, “I’m willing to forgive you.”’
Tempted
It’s a huge twist in the horrific saga, which has seen Geoff abuse and control Yasmeen. She later stabbed him in self-defence, landing her in jail.
Alya calls Yasmeen and is dumbfounded as her wavering nan says she thinks Geoff is truly sorry.
‘Yasmeen is tempted to agree,’ says Shelley. ‘She doesn’t want her life to made public. She wants to be left alone and to carry on her life.’
In prison, Yasmeen’s in turmoil. But when she tries to take control and calls
Geoff on a burner phone, the master manipulator plays his trump card… As he vows to get professional help, will Yasmeen take the bait?
Shelley says: ‘It’s a dilemma because she really wants him to change. We don’t know what she’s going to do, as many women do believe it; that’s why these relationships go on and on.’
