Who Do You Think You Are?

CAN YOU HELP?

-

Archivists working to preserve the history of the world’s first garden city are appealing for extra help.

Staff and volunteers at the Garden City Collection Study Centre in Letchworth have spent the past year conserving and digitising the 80,000 items held in its archives, which together tell the story of the town’s 19th- century origins through to the present day.

However, the team behind the project is now seeking additional help with cleaning, labelling and packing items, which include documents relating to the garden city pioneer, Sir Ebenezer Howard – a name Who Do You Think You Are?? viewers will recognise as the great grandfather of Una Stubbs.

For details about taking part in the project, see gardencitycollection.com or call 01462 476075.
